Original era manufacture. Classic US Navy cutlass which as the story goes were still in the arms lockers of USN Destroyers during WWII..."Away Boarders!" Polished steel blade measuring 26 inches in length. Sheet brass cupped guard with brass pommel with a ridged wooden grip with its black leather covering remaining intact. The cutlass is in very sound condition, displaying normal age and use. The blade has a toned finish, is not nicked, and just needs a light bath to clean right up. Typical faint Ames markings on the ricasso, with an 1862 date on the opposite side.
