Original era manufacture. A very sound .58 caliber Union Infantry cartridge box of a simplified pattern with an embossed US on the flap. Both cartridge tins are present and the overall condition of the box is quite nice with some scattered areas of surface flaking to the flap. Newark NJ makers stamp on the lower right corner. Both tins are present as are the shoulder strap attaching buckles and leather tabs.
