Original era manufacture. A bronze medallion and suspension bar, honoring those men who answered President Lincoln's call for 3 month volunteers in 1861. The medal was approved by the state of Massachusetts in 1902, with over 3,000 being awarded.Our example is named on the edge to Charles Raymond. Lt. Col. 3D Regt. Excellent research potential, unusual to find an example named to a field grade officer. Compete with its original attaching pin, pleasing bronze patina finish.
