Original era manufacture. Black design printed on linen, as I understand this, these were used as outlines, or patterns, for the sailor to embroider the emblem onto the sleeve of his jumper. Part of our recent Civil War collection purchase, which was assembled over the past 70 years by a local WWII veteran.
