Original era manufacture. A nice solid brass cast buckle with a wonderful old patina. Period markings on the reverse forward of the catch, 14 C, Regiment & Company letter? This is identical to one in our own collection, in fact I used to use it in re-enacting, how's that for consumptive use of artifacts.
