Original era manufacture. A pliable leather strap measuring 45 inches in length. At one end is a brass adjusting hook, the other end has stitch marks where it may have been sewn at one time to a sling loop. Several markings can be seen, a large number 28, on one end, and a smaller 28 nearer towards the brass hook.   Purchased as part of the collection of a 94 year old local WWII veteran, who collected Civil War memorabilia for most of his life.
