Original era manufacture. The brown wool-jean cloth cover shows scattered wear and staining from service usebut is quite sound for its age. Hand embroidered into the lower portion of one side is the date 1862. Thick canvas shoulder strap showing wear and use. The lower metal shoulder strap guide is missing, and the strap has been carefully stitched in place.Original cork stopper and steel chain, the spout collar is missing.
