Original era manufacture. A fine quality example of a hand embroidered insignia, worn on the Union Infantry officers Hardee hat during the Civil War era. Measuring 3 inches in width, with a gold wire bugle embroidered onto a black velvet backing material. Mounted to a had backing material with a black polished cotton covering. Hand applied metal numerals. Overall sound, the wire border is loose in spots and needs to be tacked down.
