Original period manufacture. A near new condition M1852 regulation US Navy Officers sword of the lighter pattern adopted circa 1872.This well made sword comes from Spain and was imported by WB. Flawless 32 inch chromed steel blade, running straight and true, withetched panels on each sideCast brass guard and pommel bearing the letters U.S.N. inside the scrollwork, near 100% gilded finish remains. Imitation fish skin grip bound with twisted brass wire.The leather covered, metal bodied scabbard has matching condition gilded brass fittings, with no damage to the leather.A beautiful condition, well made officers sword, nothing cheap about it (except the price) and still the regulation Navy officers dress sword today.
