US Early Pattern T-Handle Shovel

Original era manufacture. Unusual pattern of the classic T-Handle shovel. It measures 22 inches in length with traces of OD paint on the metal handle brace, none on the shovel blade or wooden portions. Unusual is that the handle is braced only on the top portion of the blade, not on the bottom. No US markings visible. At the last Pomona an longtime collector showed me a similar pattern shovel he had just purchase, it was identical in design to our model, but had a slanted US stamped into the blade shank. Dark steel patina to the blade, well used wood handle and T.
