Original period manufacture. Nice large chunk of the hull of the USS Constitution "Old Ironsides", saved from the scrapyard by pennies collected by school children in 1927. The metal plaque reads " This material was taken from the original hull of the U.S. Frigate Constitution Keel Laid 1794 rebuilding 1927". The fragment measures 5.5 x 3.5 x 1 inch.
