Item #69296 : Original period manufacture. A regulation 1872 pattern forage cap produced by Bent & Bush, 15 School Street, Boston Massachusetts. Dark blue wool body with an untrimmed edge painted leather visor. Officers quality patina toned wire chinstrap, with school securing buttons and a wire embroidered blue wool patch, displaying a wreath and letters D.H.S. on the front. Size tag in the sweatband marked 7 1/8. The hat is in very sound condition.
