Item #69482 : Original period manufacture. Three Territory of Arizona bank checks, drawn on the First National Bank in Tucson. Each check measures 8.25 inches in length, they are clear, writing legible and each is signed by J.E.Allison Assistant Cashier. Two of the checks are payable to a Mrs. H.M.Kaufman, who I believe was a merchant in the town in those years. Population of Tucson in 1880, around 7,000 souls. In December 1883 the infamous Bisbee Massacre took place when a band of six outlaws robbed a general store in Bisbee, killing five people including a pregnant woman. All of the outlaws were caught, five were hanged in Tombstone, the last one, given a life sentence, was dragged from his cell and hung from a telegraph pole.
