Item #68423 : Original period manufacture. Yet another variation of the Frazier's pattern, 50-70 cartridge box. This time with a brass oval plate bearing the letters NG, National Guard. Although never adopted for Federal service, these well made boxes saw service with numerous state guards and militia units in the 1880's. Sound condition, typical age and wear.
