Item #42297 : Original period manufacture. Stamped brass, with a fire-gilt finish, pattern insignia adopted around 1872, basically a scaled down version of the larger Civil War pattern.These were made with four brass attaching loops soldered to the reverse, one in each corner, complete with all loops present, measurement is 2.5 inches in width.Stock photo, very minor details will vary.
