Original era manufacture. A really unusual Indian War wall hanging with an intriguing back story. The centerpiece of the artwork is a McKeever cartridge decorated with enlisted crossed sabres and an Infantry helmet side button. Running through the pouch, and crossing in an X are two nickel plated metal bayonet scabbards, placed through the openings are two shako plumes, one red, one yellow for Artilley and Cavalry. The leather on the pouch is dry from age but still sound enough to hold everything together. We purchased this intriguing artifact from a gentleman, who as a younger man, purchased it and several other Indian War artifacts from his WWII veteran neighbor. The veteran was given the artifacts by the widow of the Indian War soldier many years before. Our friend was wise enough to keep the trail of ownership by the Indian War soldier all of these years. His service details are shown below.HenryBlank (born 5 Jul 1863 in Prussia, died 13 Nov 1954). He enlisted 17 May1887 at Fort Bliss, TX and served with 16th Inf Co B. Discharged at FortDouglas, UT 16 May 1892.
