Original era manufacture. A high quality badge which is maker marked on the bottom of the planchet, WENDELL, no other markings visible. I did a search for that name and found they are still in business, having been a maker/retailer of military badges since 1882. It measures 32x70 mm, and the quality of construction is more akin to a piece of jewelry than a military badge. Enameled target at bottom center of the planchet with a set of separately attached crossed muskets above. Probably 10k, but certainly has the "gold" look to it.
