Original era manufacture. Early issue, black leather pouch in sound condition without the brass escutcheon on the securing strap, and an embossed US in an oval on the front. Inside are 20 canvas loops for 45-70 rifle ammunition, with an individuals name handwritten in ink.The pouch is very sound, displaying normal age and wear, and is maker marked on the reverse, Rock Island Arsenal.
