Original era manufacture. Early issue, black leather pouch in sound condition without the brass escutcheon on the securing strap, and anembossed US in an oval on the front. Inside are 20 canvas loops for 45-70 rifle ammunition. Maker marked on the reverse, Rock Island Arsenal. The pouch is very sound, displaying normal age and wear.
