Original period manufacture. An interesting notice of shipment, mailed to the Colt Patented Firearms Company of Harford Connecticut in 1883. The sender was the Franklin Iron Manufacturing Company of NY.They were notifying Colt of a recent shipment to them of 12 tons of iron ore by rail from New York. I wonder how many Colt single actions 12 tons would make. Nice little piece of postal history from one of the most famous gunmakers in the world.Typical handling and wear.
