Original era manufacture. Horstman contract helmet body, which is in sound condition, no cracks or dents, the edge binding is sound, with a pliable brown leather sweatband. The thin leather body band is intact, and is held in place by the two brass side buttons. Staff eagle plate with a German silver crescent moon on the front. The paper lining on the underside of the visors has turned purple from age, with a small tear on the back side. Assembled from original parts, at one time available from the venerable firms of Francis Bannerman and W. Stokes Kirk.
