Original era manufacture. A regulation pattern dark blue wool body, with an unbound,black painted leather visor with an adjustable black leather chinstrap. Two domed brass Pennsylvania buttons secure the chinstrap to the body. Brown polished cotton lining with a brown leather sweatband, both are sound and securely attached to the hat body. The visor is beginning to loosen on the right side of the body. Dark blue paper keystone mounted to the crown of the hat. Pinned to the front of the hat at the time of our purchase, is a pinback crossed rifles insignia for Company E, 12th Regiment. No moth issues to report.
