Original era manufacture. An issue quality hat of a regulation pattern. Dark blue wool body, with an unbound, black painted leather visor with a black leather adjustable chinstrap secured by two Staff pattern eagle buttons.Brown polished cotton  lining with a black oilcloth disc in the crown with a black painted leather sweatband. Small red paper size tag on the underside of the visor.   Overall the hat is quite clean, the stitching is sound, shows some wear on the edges of the sweatband, with a few small scattered moth bites. Brass number 7 mounted to the front.
