Item #69691 : Original period manufacture. A stellar example of a once commonly encountered US Army issue bayonet of the Indian War and Spanish American War era. Designed for use with the 1873 model 45-70 rifle, many were modified Civil War era bayonets. Deep blue finish to the blade and socket, with the desirable 1885 pattern scabbard with the big brass hook, allowing use with the woven canvas looped cartridge belts. A very nice example.
