Original period manufacture. First general issue meatcan or messkit issued to the US Army (can't really count the M1872 contraption) which saw use in new and improved versions up through the Vietnam War, that's over 100 years.Gray finished steel body with a movable handle which is US proofed on the end. Minor surface corrosion and denting, but overall a very sound example of this early pattern mess equipment.
