Original era manufacture. Dark blue wool government issue quality tunic, with red wool herringbone lacing down the front, red wool collar, shoulder straps, cuffs and tail trim; full complement of Federal eagle buttons throughout.Quilted tan cotton body lining, with matching material sleeve lining and a black polished cotton tail lining.There are no real moth issues to report with the tunic, the colors are bright and strong, all buttons are securely sewn. The openings to the sleeve lining display wear and use, with the lower lining seams opened up on each arm, no visible issue stamps. Tunic size about a 36.On the left shoulder a seam has opened up and inexpertly resewn; on the left front of the lower skirt is a 4 mm moth hole, and the securing loop for the collar hook is missing.
