Original era manufacture. Black wool covered hard body shako which now has a greenish tinge from age. Bound painted visor, with a patent leather band around the base of the shako. The visor is coming loose and needs to be tacked up a bit. Simple brass wreath and letter G on the front of the shako. Very nice red cock feather plume at top with a braided red cloth strap decoration. The interior retains its original paper label with the owners name, James Potter, giving a nice clue for further research.
