Original era manufacture. All black leather construction, with two rows of 10 canvas loops for 45-70 cartridges. The closure securing strap is an original, It is quite pliable and works just fine.A very clear US in an oval on the front side of the pouch, with a black lacquered finish. On the reverse are two slotted brass adjustment tabs, with leather guides above, allowing the pouch to be worn on a shoulder strap instead of a belt. Original paper tag on the reverse named to Buck, F. Co C USCCInside the pouch is a handwritten collectors file card providing information on the original owner. Buck, Frederick Leroy graduated 1900. Born in Pennsylvania in 1876, Died in New York March 8, 1924 at the age of 48.Served: Artillery Regt, Artillery Corps, Coast Artillery Corps, Coast Defenses 1918 - 1920.Retired 1922, Lt. Col. promoted to Col. posthumously.
