Original era manufacture. This wonderful marksmanship medal appears to be made of gilded silver, and on its reverse bears the date 1879, and the inscription, "State Mid Range Championship". On the obverse is a target with an enameled center, with numerous bullet hits inside.Multi-piece construction, with a very nice toned silver patina, and mounted to an piece of period ribbon. By the style of the eagle, my guess is Massachusetts.
