Original era manufacture. Issue pattern mess knife and fork which appear in the Ordnance Memoranda No. 29 in 1885. Interestingly the issue spoon shown accompanying the knife and fork in the memoranda is of the same pattern used up into the early WWII years. Sometimes these utensils will be found with U.S. markings as in this case on the knife blade, however both the knife and fork handles display a patent date of Dec. 19. 82. Normal age and wear, no issues.
