Original era manufacture. Very similar in construction to the standard, IW-SAW era issue canteen, but about half again as large. Being of a larger capacity, we used to refer to these canteens as the "Arizona" canteen back in the day. Likely the army had a more specific name for them, but in either case, they tend to be fairly uncommon. I cannot remember having more than a few of these pass through our hands in the past 40 odd years. This example is sound, blurredU.S. stencil, with a thin one inch tear in the cover on the revesre. The stitching is sound, and no major denting to the body. Comes with its original cloth shoulder strap, canteen bodymeasures nearly 10 inches across.
