Original era manufacture. US M1878 Canteen with a tan canvas cover with US stencil. The canteen is complete with its original cork stopper secured to one of the triangular loops found on each side of the body. Stamped on the front bottom of the cover are the letters R.I.A. and what looks to be a date of 1903. Both the front and back of the canteen body is dented, with a three inch open seam on the left side and a one inch opening on the right. Still sound for display.
