Original era manufacture. US M1878 Canteen with a tan canvas cover with US stencil. The canteen is complete with its original cork stopper secured to one of the triangular loops found on each side of the body. There is some replaced stitching on the cover edges between the spout and suspension loops. You can feel dents in the body through the cover, and some sort of paint smear on the reverse. Still a good example for display.
