Original era manufacture. US M1878 Canteen with a tan canvas cover with US stencil. The canteen is complete with its original cork stopper secured to one of the triangular loops found on each side of the body. Stamped on the front of the cover is the number 69 (69th New York) and the soldiers number 222 below. Normal age and wear with some very minor shallow denting to the body (really hardly noticeable) and staining to the cover.
