Original era manufacture. US M1878 Canteen with a tan canvas cover with US stencil. The canteen is complete with its original cork stopper secured to one of the triangular loops found on each side of the body. It also has the proper narrow pattern black leather shoulder strap with brass attaching hooks. The cork stopper is cracked in the center and there is rust on the triangular loops. Soldiers initials BDL written below the US. Great for display. Classic IW or SAW Infantry canteen.
