Original era manufacture. An elaborate 8 inch long gilded bronze ladder badge, which was awarded to a New York National Guard soldier for the years 1881-1891. Several of the individal year sections show makers marks on the reverse. There are two attaching pins, one at the top, the other midway down, to keep the badge in place on the uniform. Very clean. The State of New York was one of the first to honor her citizen soldiers with marksmanship awards.
