US Indian Wars/Spanish American War Canteen and Cover with Hanger

Original era manufacture. Tan canvas covered circular canteen with a stenciled US on its cover. Original cork stopper with chain in the spout with two triangular suspension loops on the sides and canvas hanger. Attached to the suspension loops is an original 1904 dated canvas hanger in near new condition. These hangers are often referred to as "Cavalry" hangers but we feel they were more appropriate for dismounted use as they would never hold up swinging off of a saddle. The canteen body is not dented, the cover stitching is sound with a very clear US stencil at center. Can't quite make out the other markings. Very nice cantee.
