Original era manufacture. A sound tan canvas covered circular canteen with a stenciled US on its cover. Original cork stopper with chain in the spout with two triangular suspension loops on the sides and canvas hanger. Seam stitching is sound. Stamped S D W on the reverse. Attached to the suspension loops is a period cavalry pattern leather hanger displaying light wear and use. Typical minor denting to the canteen body, still quite sound for display.
