Original era manufacture. A well used tan canvas covered circular canteen with a stenciled US on its cover. Original cork stopper with chain in the spout with two triangular suspension loops on the sides and canvas hanger. Seam stitching is sound.Attached to the suspension loops is an original 1904 dated canvas hanger displaying wear and use. These hangers are often referred to as "Cavalry" hangers but we feel they were more appropriate for dismounted use as they would never hold up swinging off of a saddle. Typical denting to the canteen body, still quite sound for display.
