Original era manufacture. A canvas covered circular canteen with a stenciled US on its cover. Original cork stopper with chain in the spout with two square-shaped suspension loops on the sides. RIA 1915 stenciled on the front below the U.S. stencil. Rather late for this pattern canteen, wonder how many went to France in 1917-18.Typical minor denting and staining to the canteen body from service use, still quite sound for display.
