Original era manufacture. A well used M1878 canteen, with it's original tan canvas coverer, which retains sound stitching. US stencil on the front, with W. Hobbs 6th Mass A written on the front. Normal  wear and staining to the cover with light denting to the body. The seam stitching is intact, the cork and chain are present.
