Original era manufacture. M1878 tan canvas covered circular canteen with a stenciled US on its cover. Original stopper, no cork,  with chain in the spout with two triangular suspension loops on the sides. Considerable staining to the cover, however the U.S. stencil is visible and the seam stitching is sound.
