US IW-SAW Era, Army Issue Enlisted M1889 Forage Cap

Original period manufacture. Issue cap with a dark blue wool body, patent leather visor with a bound edge and an adjustable chinstrap. Brown polished cotton liner with a drawstring center, black painted leather disc in the top. Securely sewn brown leather sweatband, faded size tag, and an oval shaped US QMG tag, size about a 6 3/4. Evidence of insignia once being worn on the front and the top of the hat, with some minor scattered mothing, typical for it's age. Brass eagle button on each side holding the chinstrap in place. Last issue Kepi for the US Army.
