Original era photography. Late Indian Wars era, armed Infantrymen, 1/6 plate size in an 1860's era tintype case. The men are shown in the position of Rest, each holding his 45-70 rifle with fixed bayonet. An 1874 pattern buckle can be seen on the soldier on the right, while his Pard hides his buckle behind his right hand. Both men wear leggings with shoes. This might date to the Spanish American War period, but I like the fact the one soldier is wearing a leather belt with '74 buckle instead of the ubiquitous canvas cartridge belt of the SAW.
