Original period manufacture. 19th century style binoculars, likely French manufacture but unmarked. When fully extended they measure 4 3/4 x 4 1/2 inches, and when closed 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches. Engraved on the left side brass tube is "Presented By Major F.W.Allan" and on the right tube "Won By Pvt. A. Campbell, 20 August 1898". Not sure if these are American or British men. Optics are clear.
