Original era manufacture. This is an interesting tan canvas looped belt which we purchased out of an old Arizona collection several years back (yes, unfortunately it sometimes takes us THAT long to process these big piles of neat old stuff we get in).The loops are small, about an 1 1/4 inch in length, and look to be about 30 caliber, perhaps for a pistol, 45 loops in all. A few of the loops have some light fraying to the edges, and two of them have a sizable stain to their surface. Both of the brass adjusting tabs are marked Pat. Mills & Orndorff in small letters.The stamped brass Dog's head buckle has a gilded finish, and is marked on the catch, Anson Mills Pat. Feb.1.81.Normal age and wear.
