Original period manufacture. A late war steel helmet, non-reflective edge which is seamed in the back. Original sewndark OD canvas chinstraps, which have faded to a lighter color, black painted metalfittings, military dark gloss green repainted finish, with service denting in the crown. Stamped into the underside of the front visor is the letter S, indicating manufacture by the Schlueter firm of St. Louis during WWII.Westinghouse marked plastic helmet liner with light OD canvas suspension, including a nape strap (torn) and sweatband. Original paint exterior, with a rather crudely painted 7th Army insignia atits front. The insignia is rather fresh looking, so would say it was done morerecently than WWII.
