Original period manufacture. A late war steel helmet shell, rear seam, with the Schlueter S stamp on the underside of the visor. High gloss post production OD paint job which obscures the lot number. Original sewn dark OD canvas chinstraps with a previous owners name written on the underside. Westinghouse marked plastic helmet liner with dark OD canvas suspension, including an adjustable nape strap and sweatband. Post manufacture painted exterior, with the 49th Division decal on the right side and an unknown distinctive unit decal on the left
