Original era manufacture. Bell crown black leather bodied shako, in fairly solid shape for its 200 years on the planet. Some restoration has been done on the interior of the shako, but overall it remains quite solid for display. The black leather sweatband is intact, the visor is securely sewn to the body of the shako, and the body is not soft or overly flexible. I would say that all of the brass insignia, including the chinstrap, while being the correct pattern, are probably dating from the 1950's-60's.
