Original period manufacture. Polished steel blade measuring 32.5 inches in length, marked 1863 on the obverse ricasso, the reverse side is unmarked but likely would be Ames, as they are well known for very faint makers marks. The blade runs straight and true, no nicks in its cutting edge, just some light staining and pepperingdue to its 151 year age. No scabbard.
